Voice Chat

Add the Zendeath server:

Configure your Mumble client:

  1. On the Configure menu, click Settings.
  2. On the Audio Input page, under Transmit, select Push To Talk from the list box.
  3. If you want a little Pac-Man noise every time you press your PTT key, Check the box PTT Audio Cue.
  4. On the Shortcuts page set Push-To-Talk to the key or mouse button of your choice.
  5. Click OK to confirm these settings.

Text Chat

Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a form of real-time Internet chat primarily intended for group (many-to-many) communication. There is a multitude of different IRC clients available for every kind of computer, but the most popular one is mIRC. Get mIRC!

Add the Zendeath channel:

  1. Open the mIRC Options window (Tools -> Options, or press Alt-O).
  2. The Connect panel is open by default. Fill in your information.
  3. Open the Servers panel from the Category list on the left.
  4. Scroll down in the server list until you see "GameSurge". Double-click to expand the folder. Choose EU if you're in Europe, otherwise choose Random Server. Click Select.
  5. You should now be back at the screen with your name. click Connect to Server.
  6. After connecting to GameSurge, open the Channels List. It's the 3rd icon from the left on your toolbar.
  7. Click the Add button, and in the Channel field, enter "#zendeath".

Create a GameSurge account:

  1. Click here and fill out the registration form.
  2. Within a few minutes, you should receive an e-mail at the address you entered. Copy the password to your clipboard.
  3. Connect to the GameSurge network via mIRC, and get in the Status channel that opens automatically when you connect.
  4. Send the following message with the username you registered and the password from the email:
    /authserv auth [username] [password]
  5. You should now see a message that says, "I recognize you". This means you have logged in.
  6. To change your password, send this message:
    /authserv pass [password] [new password]

Configure your mIRC client:

  1. You can configure mIRC to automatically authorize and join channels.
  2. Open the mIRC Options window (Tools -> Options, or press Alt-O).
  3. Open the Options panel from the Category list on the left.
  4. Click the Perform button.
  5. Check the box to enable perform on connect, then enter the following perform commands:
    /msg AuthServ@Services.GameSurge.net AUTH [username] [password]
    /join #zendeath
